Green Power

Our power supplier, Associated Electric Cooperative, was the first and remains a leading provider of Missouri wind power to members.

Green Power

A simple, affordable program offered by Callaway Electric

Callaway Electric Cooperative members who are interested in supporting efforts that are conscious of the environment are invited to participate in a simple, inexpensive program which allows you to purchase renewable energy credits generated from wind through the cooperative's power supply network.

How it works

If you have been considering adding residential solar or wind at your location, this may be a great alternative that simplifies the process. Choose a minimum of one 100 kWh block with a maximum of your average monthly kWh usage (if your average usage is 1,800 kWh, you may elect 18 kWh blocks). This secures a portion of wind power generated in our region for you for 12 months.

Commitment & Cancellation

The required commitment is 12 months. New participants are welcome any time, with the program starting in either January or July. The commitment automatically renews after the initial 12 months unless the member sends Callaway Electric a cancellation request. Cancellation becomes effective in January or July.

Current Rate

The current rate for the Green Power Program is a $1.00 premium for each 100 kWh block requested. Callaway Electric can adjust the premium at the end of each 12-month commitment, but members will be contacted before their renewal date if a premium adjustment is made.

How to Sign Up

There are a few options to sign up for the Green Power Program. You may follow the 'Sign Up' link on this page to fill out the application online. If you have additional questions or prefer to speak to someone in person, please contact our Member Service Team at 573-642-3326 and ask for Andy or Clay. They will be happy to address questions and help you through the sign up process.
