Callaway Electric offers rebates on heat pump systems, water heaters, window air conditioners, programmable thermostats and EV charging stations. The following includes the eligible items and the necessary requirements to qualify. Contact our member service department for more information.

Ground Source Heat Pump

A rebate for the purchase and installation of qualifying new or replacement high-efficiency ground source heat pump systems is available to residential and commercial Callaway Electric Cooperative members. 

The heat pump must be an ENERGY STAR® Plus 2 rated unit and be installed by a certified dealer. Before the rebate will be paid, Callaway Electric will need to work with the member to gather information for a heat load calculation. All systems must be closed loop systems meeting the required efficiency standards for this rebate.

Air Source Heat Pump

A rebate for the purchase and installation of qualifying new, high-efficiency air source heat pump systems is available to residential and commercial Callaway Electric Cooperative members.

The rebate is available for new construction homes and buildings along with replacement of electric central air or electric resistance heat and replacement of an existing air conditioner or dual-fuel heat pump. The air source heat pump must have an ENERGY STAR® Plus 2 rating of 17.2 SEER2 dual-fuel (gas backup) system installed by a certified dealer.

Electric Water Heaters

Receive a rebate for the purchase and installation of a qualifying new, high-efficiency electric water heater that meets or exceeds the Department of Energy (DOE) standards at the time of manufacture.

The rebate is available for construction of a new home or new addition. It also applies to replacement of an existing electric water heater and/or a new electric water heater replacing an existing gas water. Rebate applies only to 40 gallon or larger electric water heating units. If the new unit replaces an existing water heater, the efficiency rating of the old unit must be less than 0.9 efficiency. *Tankless and heat pump water heaters are not eligible for a rebate.

Room Air Conditioner

This rebate is applicable for the purchase and installation of qualifying new, high-efficiency, ENERGY STAR® rated individual window or through the wall, room air conditioner units. 

Our member service team recommends the replacement of cooling equipment that is more than ten (10) years old with an ENERGY STAR® rated units. *Used equipment does not qualify for a rebate.

ENERGY STAR Advanced Thermostat

A rebate for purchase and installation of qualifying new, ENERGY STAR® listed smart thermostat is available.

Residential members who purchase and install up to two qualifying new ENERGY STAR® listed smart thermostats are eligible to apply. The smart thermostat can be used with any type of heating and cooling system and the rebate is available for a new home construction or replacement of an existing manual or programmable thermostat. *Rebate is limited to 50% of the cost of the thermostat.

Level 2 EV Charging Station

Residential and commercial Callaway Electric Cooperative members are eligible for rebates when buying qualifying electric vehicle Level 2 charging stations. 

Rebates are limited to eligible services (homes, lake homes, shops, barns, commercial buildings, etc) that purchase more than 6,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity from the cooperative on an annual basis. The charging equipment must be new. Callaway Electric may also complete an on-site inspection of the charger after installation. *Rebate is limited to 50% of total cost, up to $250 per charger, limit 2.
