Your electric usage is recorded by a special measuring device, or meter.
Your electric meter is a highly accurate electronic device that measures kWhs as they pass through the meter on the way to your lights, appliances and electronic equipment.
The cooperative has technology in place that uses power lines and fiber optic cable to communicate with each meter and receive usage data.
If you would like to view usage data for your account, you can contact our member service department or visit our online bill presentment and payment website (SmartHub) via personal computer, smartphone or tablet device.
The cooperative’s automated meter reading system can help assist with blinking light problems, provide data for engineering and design of the electric system, provide data to help address high usage issues, decrease outage response time, and detect meter tampering issues.
With the growing number of homes with personal computers, laptops, and other electricity sensitive appliances and electronics, the cooperative continues to find ways to provide quality, reliable electric service at the lowest cost possible consistent with sound business practices.
Studying and investing in technology such as automatic meter reading helps meet the growing demand of more reliable service to you our member/owners.
